This course is the basic training program mandated by the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Law Enforcement Standards Board and is designed to train officers in the day-to-day operations of a jail facility. The training is also designed as a review for jail officers certified in the State of Wisconsin. Jail officers participating in this course will receive training that refreshes the training that was received during their recruit / basic training. They will also receive training in areas that enhance their ability to perform their duties as a jail officer. Training provided will often include, but not be limited to, the following topics: Principles of Subject Control, Legal update, legal issues, communication skills, professional communication.
